Littlest Elf Baby Hat Knitting Pattern

New to knitting? Need a quick gift for a newborn? This hat pattern is simple enough to whip up in an afternoon, and is basic enough for a beginner. The pattern even included a link to a video tutorial on creating the perfect pom pom for your hat.

The Littlest Elf Hat pattern was tested using Hobbii Tivoli DK weight acrylic yarn, though any DK weight yarn can be substituted, just make sure to knit a gauge swatch to verify that you will end up with a newborn sized hat.

Size:
Newborn, to fit 13-14"/33-35cm head circumference

Yarn:
approximately 18g of DK weight yarn, additional required if you make a pom pom

Needles:
US size 4 (3.5mm) and US size 5 (3.75mm) on 32" circular cable, or needles needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge:
24 stitches x 28 rounds=4"/10cm on larger needle, unblocked

Knit
Purl
Knit 2 together
